4/13/14 - Andy Yount - The Way of the Cross + Crucified

April 21st, 2014

Based on John 19:6, 15-17. When asked about their “king,” the Jews denied Jesus right to rule their lives. Too often, Christians too (like the religious people who crucified Jesus) resist the kingship (Lordship) of Jesus. We want a savior to die for us, but not necessarily a Lord.

4/6/14 - Andy Yount - The Way of the Cross + Crowned

April 14th, 2014

Based on John 19:1-3. The message of the Bible turns the world’s thinking upside down. Even though Jesus is the Creator of the cosmos, at his coronation he was crowned with thorns. Death was the service rendered by our king. The world is eager to grab power, whereas God seeks service.

March 30th, 2014

Based on Mark 15:1-15. Nothing is free—not even salvation (Jesus paid the price for us). And so it is with forgiveness in every case. When you forgive, you are not only absolving another person with the grace you have received, but you are enduring the cost on behalf of the other person.

2/23/14 - Andy Yount - Olympic Vision - Reveals God’s Work & Our Worship

March 7th, 2014

Based on Nehemiah 6. God is the beginning and the end of the vision that is greater than us. We are often tempted to let the vision become an end in itself. Worship is where we find the fuel to pursue the vision. God provides what we lack to achieve his plan to work in and through us. Pursued in this manner, the day will come when we and many others will stand in awe of what God has done.

2/16/14 - Andy Yount - Olympic Vision - Investing in Eternity

February 20th, 2014

Based on Nehemiah 5. Everything in this life has an expiration date. Only God’s Word and people are going to last forever. So we live wisely when we give what will not last in exchange for what will. God’s vision for us compels strategic use of our “Time, Talent & Treasure” (3T). Nehemiah modeled the 3T lifestyle necessary to pursue the prize.

2/9/14 - Andy Yount - Olympic Vision - Competing Agenda

February 11th, 2014

Based on Nehemiah 4:1-14. Vigilance is required to keep God's vision for us central. External and internal opposition plagued Nehemiah's efforts, but he kept the vision central. We also have many things that detract from God's vision for us.
