2/26/2012 - Andy Yount - Foundation Stones of Faith-A Study of Christ through Peter

February 28th, 2012

This Lenten series will build around a character study of the apostle Peter. Using various Gospel passages that include Peter, we will grow with our fellow disciple in an understanding of Jesus who pursued the cross to save us.   Peter's name means "stone."  Peter made a confession of Christ upon which Jesus said he would build his Church.

Looking back on life we recognize "standing stones", those moments that stand out as a witness to God's activity in our lives. Based on Luke 5:1-11 Peter, the fragile rock encounters Jesus, the Cornerstone of our faith. Through the object lesson of a miraculous catch of fish, Jesus informs Peter he will now become a fisher of men!
